The Farnesina is hosting an Italy-Georgia Business Forum, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the agency for the internationalisation and promotion abroad of Italian businesses (ICE) and the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
"The objective of the Business Forum," said Angelino Alfano, Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, "is to offer Italian businesses opportunities for cooperation and investment in the manufacturing, infrastructure and tourism sectors."
The minister and the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashavili, addressed the opening session. It will be followed by the signing of two bilateral memorandums, between Unioncamere and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia, and SACE and the JSC Partnership Fund of Georgia. After the ceremony Mr Alfano and Mr Kivirikashvili will leave to hold a bilateral meeting. The Business Forum will continue in the afternoon with meetings between Italian and Georgian companies.
The forum, attended by 200 Italian and 60 Georgian companies, was organised as part of a visit to Italy by Prime Minister Kvirikashavili. He is leading a large, top level institutional and entrepreneurial Georgian delegation which includes the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Kakha Kaladze; Foreign Affairs Minister, Mikheil Janelidze; Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Zurab Alavidze; Minister of Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili and Vice Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Keti Bochorishvili.
