United States: Enel stages ''Italian Innovability Days” in New York
Enel has organised a number of activities in New York as part of the programme 'Italian Innovability Days'. The initiative aims to leverage the business and R&D potential that the Italian energy company has acquired on the American market and present how Enel plans to bolster its presence on the market of New York through several initiatives. Enel intends to pursue this expansion by opening an antenna in the Big Apple and through the acquisition of a start-up already operating in Brooklyn, announced the company’s CEO, Francesco Starace.
The Company also announced an agreement with Cisco to develop innovative digital solutions in the energy sector. The aim is to optimise the potential of telecommunication technologies, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things, with a view to generating new services and making the Internet more secure, intelligent and reliable. The activities to be performed in cooperation with Cisco focus on a specialist training programme that will enable Enel employees, students and professionals to attend a refresher course to acquire the knowledge necessary to manage, control and secure a network in which digital technologies and traditional electric technologies are increasingly inter-connected.
Thanks to its wide-reaching strategy, Enel is bound to continue growing in the United States, also in the light of the significant investments announced by the Italian company, the latest of which in Oklahoma and Kansas, through the construction of new large-size wind farms. The company’s ambitious expansion plan is progressively positioning Enel Green Power North America among America’s points of reference in the production of power from renewable energy sources with an installed capacity of 3.3 GW based on highly innovative technological solutions, such as in the Stillwater Triple Hybrid Power Plant in Nevada.
