Brazil: over 100 billion euros for energy and infrastructure investment and privatisation programme.
There are major opportunities to be had by Italian enterprises in infrastructure projects in Brazil, according to the Minister of Planning, Development and Economic Management, Dyogo Henrique de Oliveira. He was welcomed by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, and the Vice President of ANCE, Giandomenico Ghella, during a visit to Italy over the past few days.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the National Association of Construction Companies. With over 50 companies in attendance, it provided an opportunity to review the economic recovery of Brazil and to illustrate the main infrastructure projects planned in the country over the next few years.
Special focus was given to prospects afforded by the Brazilian Government investment programme (Crescer Programme), which will make about 54 billion euros available to private investors for infrastructure-related projects. Many of these will be assigned under public-private partnership agreements.
A strong sense of synergy has also emerged with respect to participation by Italian industries in railway-line and road construction projects, the privatisation of the Brazilian power supply, new permits for the main airports in Brazil and the development of the shipbuilding sector.
