The city of Genoa on mission to Warsaw
The Italian Embassy in Warsaw held a meeting on 16 April to promote the city of Genoa before a selected audience of Polish professionals operating in the tourist sector, maritime shipping logistics and the silver economy. Organised in partnership with the ICE Agency, the local ENIT broadcaster, the Italian-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Confcommercio international, the meeting scheduled the following keynote speakers: Giancarlo Vinacci, Councillor for Development and Economic Promotion of the Municipality of Genoa, Cesare Torre, Territorial Director of Marketing, Promotion of the City, and Cultural Activities of the Municipality of Genoa, and Alessandro Pitto, President of Shippers Association in the Port of Genoa.
The event illustrated the principal features of the capital of the Liguria region and an Italian centre of high-tech excellence in addition to being an important maritime communication and commerce hub and a city capable of offering quality of life, cultural attractions and investment opportunities. The Warsaw meeting, which is scheduled to be the first in a series of meetings organised by the city of Genoa in Central and Eastern European Countries, also enabled the Ligurian Municipality to show the Polish audience the efforts of the Administration, and principally of the citizens, to promptly respond to the tragedy of the Morandi bridge crash.
