Sarajevo hosts an exhibition on Enrico Fermi for Research Day

An exhibition on Enrico Fermi and other famous Italian researchers who have made Italian science great in the world kicked off at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Tuzla. Organized by the Italian Embassy in Sarajevo to celebrate the Italian Research Day in the World, the exhibition was opened by the Italian Ambassador, Nicola Minasi, together with the Rector of the University of Tuzla, Nermina Hadžigrahić.

The event was followed by a workshop to present the scientific activities conducted by the University of Tuzla and opportunities for cooperation with Italian institutions. Participants included Salvatore Capozziello, Professor at the Federico II University of Naples and member of the Neapolitan Section of the prestigious National Institute of Nuclear Physics, and Fabio Mazzolini of Elettra - "AREA Science Park", an Italian public research institute that develops innovation methodologies and runs Trieste's Science and Technology Park.

A project dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Koniuh Natural Park as a tourist destination, which is promoted by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency was presented at the workshop as a concrete example of the impact of research on the lives of citizens. The project enjoyed the participation of a number of students from the University of Tuzla who mapped the park's plants and wildlife as part of an agreement between the University and the Italian NGO CISP, which is in charge of implementing the project. The event was also an opportunity to remember the President of CISP, Paolo Dieci, who died in the recent Ethiopian Airlines crash.
