The international opportunities of Big Science presented at the ILO Industrial Opportunity Days
The INAF Astronomical Observatory in Capodimonte, Naples, hosted the second national edition of IOD - ILO Industrial Opportunity Days. The event was organised by INI - ILO Network Italia, the network of Italian Industrial Liaison Officers (ILO) working at major European research centres and facilities. The event was aimed at informing Italian companies operating in the Big Science market on the state of progress of ongoing projects at the major European research centres and facilities in which Italy participates.
Representatives of 65 industries attended the meeting together with 15 heads of large international facilities and the personnel of several national research agencies for a total of 130 participants. The event focused on illustrating scientific innovations and the opportunities for companies in the field of high energy physics, astronomy, nuclear fusion, synchrotron and neutron light sources, and on providing information on specific aspects of the specifications (civil engineering, electronics, magnets, cryogeny, beamlines) and the tendering procedures, including those relative to Italy’s new DTT – Divertor Tokamak Test facility fusion project, enabling participants to acquire additional technical details on the upcoming tendering opportunities directly from the representatives of research laboratories.
