Today, April 20th, a plane with a cargo of medical equipment donated by the Slovak government to Italy as aid in the fight against the Coronavirus left Bratislava. The transfer of the aid (300 thousand surgical masks and 500 litres of sanitiser concentrate) was organised on the initiative of the Ministry of the Interior and the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At Bratislava airport, at the time of departure, was the Italian Ambassador to Slovakia Gabriele Meucci, together with Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok and Interior Minister Roman Mikulec.
"On behalf of the Italian Government, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Slovak Authorities for a gesture that, once again, testifies to the deep friendship and closeness of our two countries. At this difficult time in Europe, it is a gesture that lays the foundations for a better future" – Ambassador Meucci has affirmed.
