Ca’ Foscari - University in Venice dedicates a two-day event to India

The two-day conference 'Conversations with contemporary India' was opened at the Cá Dolfin campus of the Cá Foscari University in Venice, at the presence of Indian Ambassador to Italy, Anil Wadhwa. The meeting, organised by the Venetian University in partnership with the Italian Embassy in New Delhi, with the sponsorship of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, included a video conference with the Italian Ambassador to India, Lorenzo Angeloni. The conference is part of a broad agenda of events aimed at testifying to the ongoing changes in one of the world’s fastest growing economies. Massimo Warglien, professor of economics at Cá Foscari University, explained: “The aim is to break the stereotype of how India is perceived in Italy, by disclosing important aspects of contemporary India.” Today and tomorrow, the Silvio Trentin Auditorium and the Baratto Hall will host a meeting aimed at fostering dialogue Indian between start-uppers mainly based in the urban district of Bangalore, emerging designers using traditional fabrics in a contemporary key and the representatives of cultural and art institutions, like the Kochi Biennale, and give them the opportunity to present their activities.
