The development of research and industrial applications for large-scale infrastructures is the goal of a new laboratory that is the collaborative effort of the Universities of Fuzhou (Fujian), Guangzhou and Roma Tre, and FIP Industriale. The project was launched by Prof. Bruno Briseghella of the University of Padova and with the support of the Superior Council of Public Works. A memorandum of understanding was signed for the joint laboratory, which is certain to have a fruitful impact not only on relations amongst the three universities involved, but also on the promotion of Italian firms on the Chinese market. FIP Industriale is an Italian firm already operating in Wuhan in the province of Hubei that produces anti-seismic applications, especially for bridges, a sector that offers Italian firms major opportunities.
