Dei/Sole 24 Ore - Ethiopia: Addis Ababa mega-airport launched
A predicted exponential increase in air traffic through the Ethiopian capital (flows of 18-25 million passengers annually by 2025, compared with a current 5-6 million), and its goal to make Addis Ababa the undisputed hub of African air industry, has led the government of Ethiopia to ensure funding for a new international airport of mega proportions outside Addis Ababa. Its feasibility study has been awarded to Aeroports de Paris.
For more information, including on prerequisites for participation, see http://www.bciaerospace.com/ethiopia. Of additional interest, the first edition of AIMA Africa – Airport Infrastructures & MRO Aviation Meetings – will take place from 22 to 24 September 2015. A business convention dedicated to airport infrastructure and maintenance professionals that will include B2B buyer and supplier encounters. The choice of Addis Ababa for the event was due not least to Ethiopian Airlines prominence on the African sector panorama.
