The Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni presents the 2016 Annual Statistics Report on the structure, resources, activities and services of the diplomatic network abroad, illustrated on a chart containing the most relevant figures of 2015.
The figures relative to 2015 tell the story of the commitment of an Administration at the service of Italy and of the world, and this year they are commented by the Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni.
The 2016 Annual Statistics Report provides citizens and institutions with the digital version of all the data relative to the Foreign Ministry’s structure, resources, activities and the services offered through its central and overseas offices, broken down by service type and geographic area.
It consists of a detailed statistical overview containing valuable information to better understand the Foreign Ministry’s working procedures and tasks: personnel management, budget provisions, international visits and engagements, judicial diplomatic, cultural, scientific and economic cooperation agreements, Italian citizens residing abroad, the Crisis Management Unit, consular services, entry visas to Italy, development cooperation, relations with Parliament, official communications, comparisons with other European Countries. A selection of significant data is contained in bookmark (303 official visits in Italy, 5,202,281 Italians listed in the consular registers, 2,043,162 entry visas, 294,767 passports issued by the consular network, 49,905 interventions to protect and assist Italian citizens abroad, 71,067 students enrolled in the Italian language courses at the Italian Cultural Institutes (IIC), 28,958 followers of the profile Farnesina@ItalyMFA.
