The Italian Ambassador in Moscow, Cesare Maria Ragaglini, is leading a business mission to Lipetsk, the capital city of one of the most interesting Russian regions from the point of view of investment opportunities, with a view to establishing joint ventures with local partners and strengthening an Italian entrepreneurial presence in the area. Italian Trade Agency ICE (the agency for the promotion and internationalisation of Italian enterprises), the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, and SACE (Italian export credit agency) will also participate in the mission.
At present, four of the seven foreign enterprises currently operating in Lipetsk’s SEZ (Special Economic Zone) are Italian. During the mission, the Ambassador will meet with the Governor of the region, Oleg Petrovich Korolev, visit the Russian NLMK plant and the Italian Sest-Luve plant. The Ambassador will also attend the opening session of the Business Economic Forum to attract Italian investment, which will feature B2B meetings between Italian and Russian companies, followed by technical meetings to boost the teaching of Italian as a second language in schools and universities, as well as the introduction of Italian in EGE state examinations.
"It is no coincidence that our mission to Lipetsk marks the beginning of our activities in 2017," explained Ambassador Ragaglini, who added: "We believe that Italian investors and enterprises may have a pioneering role, boosted by the establishment of the SEZ, in a region in which many Italian companies are already doing business."
"Moreover, we have the good fortune that the region has a solid and well organized administrative system, capable of meeting all the needs of foreign enterprises seeking to enter this market. We can also rely on an Honorary Consulate, which has been providing considerable support to the firms already operating in this territory and has committed to facilitate the inflow of capital and the establishment of new enterprises," concluded Ambassador Ragaglini.
