Triennale di Milano will support economic recovery, says Gentiloni

The 21st International Exposition of the Triennale di Milano “will be a way to support the recovery of our economy. It will also help us recover confidence in our ability to attract foreign investment, in our export system, and in the possibility that the country, its businesses, its institutions, its reforms and its civil society will play their part in restoring to Italy a role and image that it has never lost”.

These were the words of Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, speaking at a presentation on the Triennale to the diplomatic corps accredited in Italy. The Triennale, entitled “21st Century. Design after Design” will run from 2 April to 12 September 2016.

“The exhibition will also be an opportunity to underscore that the image of our country, its civilisation, its cultural tradition, and its cultural power, is not fed solely by our extraordinary historic heritage. It is also nurtured by today’s modern culture. And design is one of the most extraordinary expressions of that culture. For Italy, it is very much our ‘calling card’”.

Participants at today’s presentation included the Secretary General of the Bureau of International Expositions, Vicente Loscertales; the President of Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni; the Culture Councillor of Milan City Council, Filippo Del Corno; the President of FederlegnoArredo, Roberto Snaidero; and the President of the Triennale di Milano Foundation, Claudio De Albertis.
