Japan - Exhibitions, the “Voices and colours of nature” (“Voci e colori della natura”) live again in the works of Laura Galvagno

The exhibition “Voices and colours of nature” (“Voci e colori della natura”) includes 20 abstract works of art which take their inspiration from the world of nature and were created by Laura Galvagno between 2014 and 2017. The Artistic Area of the Italian Cultural Institute in Osaka will host the exhibit, which opens on 15 September and runs through 12 October. Galvagno is a self-taught Italian artist, born in Venice, but who now lives in Kobe. Twigs, stones and leaves found in nature form the basis of her pictures, which are painited almost entirely without the aid of a paintbrush. The lively colours are reminiscent of Venetian glass. The light and colour infused through her work evoke both the world of nature and the vivid colours of Venetian glass that have inspired the painter since she was a child. The paintings are not large, and are almost all in acrylic paints on watercolour paper. The exhibition is promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Osaka, with support from the Italian Consulate General in Osaka.
