A total of 342 videos created by 286 entrants in 47 countries. These are the record numbers from the video competition launched by the Italian Foreign Ministry through the online global community Zooppa targeting young Italian and foreign creatives from around the world. The purpose of the project is to promote the idea of the "Italian Way of Life" conveying an image of Italy in which its art, culture, beauty but also its innovation, technology and design are emphasised within a vision that is as far as possible free of clichés.
The six winners of the competition focussed on imagination and creativity, passion and emotions and tradition and modernity through the use of images, sound, familiar stories and editing techniques to capture the attention of the viewer. Their videos, which all last between 40-120 minutes, shared the 15,000 euro prize awarded by the Ministry.
Many of the videos came from Latin America - the first and second placed winners live in Brazil and Argentina - and from the United States as the fourth-placed country.Completing the list of winners is Germany in third place, Poland in fifth and Italy in sixth position. The winners were chosen from a shortlist by a jury consisting of representatives of the Ministry and experts in the field.
The winning videos, which are available on the Ministry's YouTube page, will also be used by our network of Embassies, Consulates and the Italian Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), to offer a new vision of Italy with the different voices and perspectives of creatives from all over the world.
