Dolphin hunt: Amb. Of Italy in Tokyo conveys Italy’s concern to Japanese Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing

In the spirit of the deep friendship that unites Italy and Japan, Italian Ambassador in Tokyo Domenico Giorgi met with Japanese Minister for Agriculture , Forestry and Fishing Yoshimasa Hayashi on January 21st, to convey the concern of the Italian people regarding the tradition of dolphin hunting in Taiji. He added the hope that, on the strength of widespread reactions of this sort, Japan might be convinced to reconsider the practice.

Ambassador Giorgi will continue to monitor the question closely, maintaining contact with the Delegation of the European Union and the heads of the other diplomatic missions in Tokyo.
