Italy welcome the release of two Algerian diplomats

Italy welcomes the recent release of 2 Algerian diplomats, Mourad Ghessas and Kaddour Miloudi, who had been kidnapped in Mali in April 2012. Our country reiterates its condemnation of international terrorism and the kidnapping of hostages.

In expressing its appreciation of Algeria’s efforts to mediate between the various parties in Mali, the Italian Government conveys its deepest condolences to the Algerian people and its sympathy to the families of two other diplomats, Tahar Touati and Boualem Saies, whose deaths have sadly been confirmed.
