Under-Secretary Mario Giro opened the general assembly of the italophone radio/TV community in Turin this morning by outlining upcoming projects for the promotion and dissemination of the Italian language. He specifically underscored the States General of the Italian Language Days to be held in Florence in October, which will bring together industry experts and representatives for the purpose of highlighting Italian, the 4th most-studied language in the world, as an economic growth factor and in building the country’s reputation.
Special guests included new president of the Accademia della Crusca Claudio Marazzini and RSI president Luigi Pedrazzini, who presented the project “Italia Swizzera Verso EXPO 2015”.
Selected speakers representing RAI, RTV, Koper, Issr, ICoN (a consortium of 19 Italian universities) discussed various ways of promoting and disseminating the Italian language around the world.
