Minister Moavero Milanesi attends

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, will be in Marseilles tomorrow 23 and the day after tomorrow, 24 June, to attend “The Summit of the two Shores - the Mediterranean Forum”. The Minister recalled that “the joint initiative aims to relaunch political and economic cooperation among the Countries bordering on the two shores of the Western Mediterranean. The aim is in line with Italy’s priority interests and with a sustainable development, socially equitable and nature-friendly model in the Mediterranean area.

The Summit will also be attended by the Foreign Ministers of Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia, in addition to members of multilateral organisations in the region, including: the European Union, the Union for the Mediterranean, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and representatives of civil society organisations. The Foreign Ministers Summit will close at the presence of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, with the adoption of a declaration and the reading of an “Appeal of One Hundred Youths of the Western Mediterranean” by Ouidded Bouchamaoui, Tunisian entrepreneur and 2015 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
