Within the framework of the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of India and the Republic of Italy, signed in New Delhi on 28 November 2003 and enforced on 3 November 2009, the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India, have issued their first announcement for industrial research projects, seeking to promote technological innovation and partnerships between the two countries.
The themes of the bilateral projects will focus on advanced materials, intelligent industry, cultural heritage technologies, water technologies (with special regard for potable water, purification, desalination, irrigation and polluted water management and processing).
Indian concerns intending to respond to the call must be based in India - academic foundations and hospital research bodies, as well as research institutions ,will be encouraged to participate in the projects as collaborators. The Italian partners will be companies carrying out research and development activities. Companies not performing R&D directly will be admitted as long as they collaborate with a non-industrial body (university, research centre, etc). SMEs applying projects in collaboration with a research partner, innovative start-ups and certified incubators (as per art. 25 of the Italian Decree n. 179/2012) and any innovative SMEs (as defined in art. 4 of the Italian Decree 3/2015) will be granted priority.
The call will open on 24 June, 2017 and will close on 31 October, 2017.
