Minister Moavero Milanesi holds several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the NATO Ministerial Meeting in Brussels

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, had bilateral meetings with several Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the NATO ministerial meeting, which was held in Brussels yesterday and today, 4 and 5 December.

In particular, Minister Moavero Milanesi met Turkye's Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, with whom he discussed matters concerning the Mediterranean, Libya, Syria and Iraq. He then met the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, to whom he offered his condolences at the death of President George H.W. Bush; they agreed they would meet again soon. In his meeting with Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Katrougalos, Minister Moavero Milanesi discussed the political situation in the Mediterranean and the Balkans. He focused on current matters and issues of mutual interest with Belgian Foreign Minister, Didier Reynders, Dutch Foreign Minister, Stef Blok and Danish Foreign Minister, Anders Samuelsen. Security in the Balkans was the topic on the agenda of the Minister's talks with his Bulgarian and Croatian counterparts, Ekaterina Zaharieva and  Marija Pejcinovic Buric, respectively. Minister Moavero Milanesi and Georgian Foreign Minister, David Zalkaliani, discussed   the political situation in Georgia. Finally, Minister Moavero Milanesi had brief exchanges of views with Canadian Foreign Minister, Chrystia Freeland and German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas. A tripartite meeting was held with the Foreign Ministers of France, Jean-Yves Le Drian and Spain, Josep Borrell, to exchange views on the cooperation between the EU and the NATO, the situation in the Mediterranean and developments in Libya.
