The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio di Stefano attended the Assolombarda General Meeting in Milan today. The event was opened by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
“I am here at the Assolombarda General Meeting once again this year, and again I have appreciated the openness of the requests and of the commitments made by the business world", said the Undersecretary. "I noticed that the comments made by the President of Confindustria, Boccia and by the Prime Minister show that they are on the same page, especially Boccia’s comment: 'The stability and growth pact must become the growth and stability pact', and we all fully agree. For too many years we have complied with the logic of stability as a single priority when instead it is growth that is the prerequisite for stability. The government intends to reverse the trend and we stated this loud and clear here today.”
