Undersecretary Manlio Di Stefano spoke today in Milan at the inauguration of "Anima Export Days", an international event for industrial mechanics companies represented by Federazione Anima. The Undersecretary, recalling that Italy is the fifth global exporter in the industrial automation sector, stressed the government's commitment to supporting the industry in the sector.

"In recent years export has been the only component of GDP showing a very positive trend" - said Di Stefano - "In 2018, we reached 465 billion euro of total exports, and we have the objective of reaching 500 in 2020". He then stressed the government's measures in support of internationalization, including 12 million euros to confirm in the current year the figures for Temporary Export Managers, already introduced in 2019.

Since January 1st, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been responsible for trade policy and international economic promotion. It is "a fundamental turning point; companies will now be able to deal with a more efficient and simplified institutional architecture, which will stimulate the economic diplomacy activities of consulate embassies".

As a further priority, the Undersecretary has indicated the stimulus of the flow of direct investments from abroad: to this end, in 2020 the intervention in favour of the Special Economic Zones, surrounding the main commercial ports of the south, which offer administrative and fiscal incentives for start-ups, will be strengthened.
