"With this campaign, just at the hardest moment of the epidemic, it was possible to communicate to the world Italy deep vocation to art, culture, creativity, which will be one of the important bases of our recovery, a vocation that the virus will never scratch". This was stated by Deputy Minister Marina Sereni regarding the conclusion of the #WeAreItaly campaign, carried out by the Foreign Ministry in the past weeks.
"#WeAreItaly – the Deputy Minister explains – wanted to represent the best showcase of a country engaged in a hard battle, a showcase that the whole world has been able to observe to appreciate the value of Italy and of Italians in fields that have always seen us as protagonists".
"We have thus transmitted – Ms Sereni continues – the image of a country that, despite the difficulties, does not stop and maintains its vital and creative force thanks to culture. For this, from Andrea Bocelli to Claudio Magris, from Uto Ughi to Paolo Conte, I want to thank the contribution of the many Italian musicians, actors, writers and dancers who have opened the doors of their homes to the world to give their testimony as Italian artists. And the thanks must also be extended to the many foreign artists who have made their own contribution to the campaign and also to all those who – the Deputy Minister concludes – outside Italy have contributed to the success of the campaign by relaunching and spreading it".
Through the social channels used (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and the reposts made by many of the artists, the campaign has recorded over 2.5 million views, to which 41 thousand views of the #WeAreItaly page of the Ministry must be added, in which were presented, alongside with films, opera and theatre performances, readings and virtual visits to museums, the initiatives of the artists and the cultural network of the country.
