Tomorrow Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Scalfarotto, will be on an official visit to the Republic of San Marino, as part of the ongoing process of relaunching bilateral relations between Rome and San Marino, following the meeting between Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio and Secretary of State Luca Beccari, on 15 October, and the meeting of the Joint Commission, on 28 October, at the Italian Foreign Ministry, chaired by Deputy Minister Scalfarotto himself. "Our aim is to bring a decisive change of pace in our relations", Deputy Minister Scalfarotto said, "by refreshing and reordering the many dossiers between our two countries, for the purpose of establishing a strategic, structured and consistent partnership, also in view of the forthcoming Association Agreement that San Marino is currently negotiating with the European Union". Financial cooperation, energy supply, radio and television communications are among the topics that will be discussed at the meetings between the Deputy Minister and his San Marino counterparts. Cultural cooperation will be a priority, as confirmed by the inclusion in the programme of the visit of the signing of the Executive Programme of Cultural and Scientific Cooperation.
"My presence in San Marino only one month after the meeting of the Joint Commission bears witness to the Italian Government's firm willingness to rapidly resolve the outstanding issues and kickstart a stage of all-round cooperation in all sectors ", Deputy Minister Scalfarotto concluded.
