Ministry of Foreign Affairs: one thousand PCs for agile working

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has purchased one thousand PCs for the agile working of its employees at the first "Consip digital auction".

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers, together with the Ministry of Economic Development, SOGEI company, the Defence General Staff, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the auction launched yesterday, 6 May, to purchase laptops for the public employees who work remotely.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the first administrations to use this innovative, fully digitalised tool, among those envisaged when fully operational in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), as part of the reform known as the "Recovery Procurement Platform" - Digitisation and strengthening of the administrative capacity of contracting authorities.

The auction was launched on the Mef-Consip platform. It allows demand (the PA's needs) and supply (economic operators enabled to the Dynamic Purchasing System-Sdapa) to meet quickly, essentially in real-time.

This first edition of the auction concerned the supply of 2,773 portable PCs - including accessories, services and additional monitors - for a total auction value of EUR 2.3 million.
