Every year, the Christmas celebration for the children of Wolfsburg, Germany, is a memorable event. Introduced in the 1980s for the children of the Italian community, thanks to the efforts of the Consular Agency of Italy, over the years this event has become an international celebration aimed at enhancing integration and dialogue between people of different cultures and nationalities living in the city. Like every year, during the 2018 edition, sponsored by Ferrero, 19 different associations set up stands offering gourmet food and handicrafts in the town theatre. In the Porschestrasse pedestrian district - named after Ferdinand Porsche, the father of the Volkswagen Beetle - people celebrated with Spumante wine and panettone, while the downtown area was taken over by Christmas markets. The highlight of the celebration was the theatre performance dedicated to children. The Scharoun Theater staged the "Pippi Longstockings" show, which was enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Lastly, Wolfsburg's Apulia Club organized a living nativity scene in the theatre lobby.
