First Italy-Armenia Business Forum

The first Italy-Armenia Business Forum that just closed in Yerevan turned out to be a great success, with the attendance of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and of the Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan. The event was promoted by the Italian National Association of Builders (ANCE) and the OICE engineering consulting and organised by the Italian Embassy in Yerevan and the ICE Agency.

In his address, the Armenian Prime Minister extended an invitation to all the Italian businessmen present to grasp the opportunities offered by the Country’s ongoing development process and to actively participate in its economic growth, underscoring how this is a Government priority financially supported by three major international institutions (EU, ADB, EBRD, EIB, UNDP).

The large participation of companies in the B2B and B2G sessions on the sidelines of the Forum (with 200 meetings scheduled) is undoubtedly a tangible sign of the great interest shown in closing new partnerships in this market, said Italian Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco at the Forum.

Armenia, regardless of its dimension, can be considered a global Nation in its own right thanks to a very large and influent community of expats, and was defined “Country of the Year” as the destination of foreign investment by the magazine The Economist.

The Foreign Ministry Counsellor Vincenzo Ercole Salazar Sarsfield, who led the delegation of entrepreneurs, underscored that Italian companies have several cards to play in Armenia by entering into win-win partnerships in the various sectors focused on in the Forum: connectivity, energy efficiency, waste management, smart cities, urban transport and the recovery of historical heritage.

At the Business Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ANCE and the Armenian Association of Builders to promote future cooperative efforts between the builders of the two Countries.
