Lima: lecturing tour for two Italian international law experts

Two of Italy’s major experts in international and maritime law have been engaged in an intense agenda of meetings and conferences organised by the Italian Embassy in Lima and Cusco. The two academics, Ida Caracciolo, full professor at the Federico II University of Naples, legal expert of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian candidate to become judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea of Hamburg, and Tullio Scovazzi, full professor at the Milano-Bicocca University, to kick off their lecturing tour, held a double lectio magistralis at the Higher School of the Navy and at the School of Law of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, the Country’s leading public university and the oldest in America. They then delivered a lecture on the “New Trends in International Law” at the Peruvian Constitutional Court. They also held a two-day workshop on the Law of the Sea at the Diplomatic Academy of Peru and a seminar at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Perú organised to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their School of Law. Lastly, to close their visit to the Latin American Country, the two Italian academics held two lectures on the protection and safeguard of cultural heritage, a theme of primary interest for both Countries, at the Higher Court of Justice of Cusco.
