Japan, more than 1400 companies at the Maeci/ICE webinar

1449: this is the number of companies registered at the webinar organized today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, capable of establishing more relationships with the teachers as well. Speakers included the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Manlio Di Stefano (who gave a detailed speech on the financial instruments recently prepared by the Government for the relaunch of Italian companies on international markets), the Italian Ambassador to Japan Giorgio Starace, the President of ICE (Italian Trade and Investment Agency) Carlo Maria Ferro, Damiano Francovigh for the Ministry of Foreign Affair's Country System Directorate, the Director of the ICE Office in Tokyo Erica di Giovancarlo and the representative of Bankitalia in Japan Angelo Cicogna.
"Japan" - underlined Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Manlio Di Stefano - "is a strategic partner for our economy, even more so after the entry into force of the Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union, which has guaranteed growth in our exports of 19.7% in 2019. Together with our Embassy in Tokyo, we will continue to look with great interest at the opportunities to collaborate with this economic giant of the Far East which. Let me remind you that it is the third-largest economy in the world, also to plan our post-COVID-19 internationalization activities. In addition to the classic 3F (Food, Fashion, Furniture) with Japan, we will focus on sectors such as high technology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energy, aerospace and medical technologies applied to the ageing society".
"The presence of Undersecretary Di Stefano at today's event testifies to the Italian Government's attention to Japan, a priority market for the Made in Italy. It is a crucial step for the relaunch of the internationalization process of our companies," remarked Ambassador Giorgio Starace. The Ambassador moderated the webinar and collected questions from companies. He was also assisted by the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo Paolo Calvetti and by several representatives of the Italian business community in Japan. He illustrated the initiatives undertaken and studied by Sistema Italia in Japan for the benefit of our entrepreneurial fabric and designed explicitly for the post-emergency Coronavirus. The program of events and projects is freely available on the website of the Italian Embassy in Japan:
The articulated debate between representatives of institutions and companies has allowed making an updated point of view on the next B2B and trade fairs and, more generally, on the priorities of the integrated promotion of the Country System, thanks also to the interventions of the President of ICE Ferro and Dr Di Giovancarlo. The Director-General of ICE Roberto Luongo then concluded the work by reaffirming the strategic priority of Japan for our industrial reality and the cohesive commitment of the Italian System to give a renewed impulse to restart the Italian companies in the large Japanese market.
