Singapore: the best of Italian cinema

The Italian Film Festival is running in Singapore until 26 September. Organised by the Italian Cultural Institute, it presents the best of our contemporary cinema. The programme includes the movies that have been most successful in recent months, in their original language with English subtitles.

The Italian Film Festival is considered to be one of the longest-running and most popular national film festivals in Singapore. Despite the health restrictions still in place it has been a successful event that has attracted over 500 spectators to see reruns of some of the movies in the programme, including Miss Marx by Susanna Nicchiarelli, I Predatori by Pietro Castellitto, and Non Odiare by Mauro Mancini.

Supported by the Singapore Film Society and produced in collaboration with Golden Village and The Projector cinemas, the movies selected for this year’s edition include comedies, dramas, and critically acclaimed films as well as Trash, an animated film suitable for children. They deal with various themes like racism and feminism but also brotherhood, love, friendship, and the sense of fun.
