Argentina, Literary Café for Italian authoresses of the 1900s

Yesterday, 14 May, the Italian Consulate General in Bahia Blanca opened the 2019 edition of the Literary Café titled “Lives and Stories in the Feminine. A look at the work of great Italian authoresses of the 1900s”. The event schedules monthly meetings at the Consulate to discuss – in Italian – some of the texts by great Italian authoresses of the 20th century, such as Grazia Deledda, Matilde Serao, Sibilla Aleramo, Amalia Guglielminetti and Neera (Anna Zuccari).

“The goal of the Literary Café – said Consul General Antonio Petrarulo – is to promote the knowledge and dissemination of the Italian language while, at the same time, highlight the unique and original style that characterises Italian female literature of the time.” The inaugural event was also attended by the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Buenos Aires, Donatella Cannova, and the Director of the Istituto Cultural of Bahia Blanca, Ricardo Margo.
