01/17/2020

The Italian Embassy in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Dutch Association Poorters van Venetië (https://poortersvanvenetie.nl) and the Stichting Nederlands Venetië Comité have launched the Red Venetië (Save Venice) campaign to raise funds for the recovery of the artistic and cultural heritage damaged by the recent floods in Venice, a legacy that belongs to all humankind.

Two fundraising events will be the highlights of the campaign.

On Friday 17 January 2020, from 17:00 to 21:00, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam, the Poorters van Venetië will host a buffet dinner and an evening seminar to discuss the current situation in Venice, possible solutions to the flood emergency and artistic projects carried out by the Poorters, with the participation of renowned Italian and Dutch speakers and an introduction by the Italian Ambassador.

On Friday 31 January 2020, from 7 pm, the flautist Inês d'Avena and the harpsichordist Claudio Ribeiro will present their latest album, "Anonimo Venexian", at the Keizersgrachtkerk in Amsterdam, with world preview of music pieces taken from their recent discoveries of Baroque music from the Venetian archives, including an unpublished sonata attributed to Antonio Vivaldi.

The proceeds of the campaign will be managed by Poorters van Venetië, for the benefit of the restoration work carried out by the Italian conservatories.
