The Italian Ambassador in New Delhi, Lorenzo Angeloni, opened in the Indian capital “Casa Italia”, a community centre for Indian businesses intending to travel to Italy. “'Casa Italia' – said Ambassador Angeloni at the ribbon-cutting ceremony – is a space that processes applications for business visas to Italy and promotes the points of excellence of Brand Italy”. Decorated with iconic objects of Italian design and located in the central district of New Delhi, ‘Casa Italia’ will offer Indian businessmen a taste of the “Italian Way of Life”: from espresso coffee to the presentation of Italian high-quality manufactured products. It is also planned to give updated information on business and cultural events in Italy. Italian business visa applications are steeply growing in India. In 2018, they increased 20%, with a 33% peak in northern India. The rise recorded so far this year is already of 15%. “With Casa Italia and other ongoing initiatives, we aim to further increase the volume of business visas from India to Italy,” said Ambassador Angeloni. The opening of 'Casa Italia' in New Delhi will be followed, in the upcoming weeks, by the opening of similar centres in Mumbai and Calcutta.
