On Wednesday, 6 April 2016, at 3 p.m., the Farnesina will host the presentation of the project “Atlante delle Stragi Naziste e Fasciste in Italia 1943-1945” (“Atlas of Nazi and Fascist Massacres in Italy from 1943 to 1945”), organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The project, the fruit of an important agreement between Italy and Germany, is promoted by the ANPI, Associazione Nazionale Partigiani d’Italia (National Association of Italian Partisans) and by INSMLI, the Istituto Nazionale per la Storia del Movimento di Liberazione in Italia (National Institute for the History of the Liberation Movement in Italy) and is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany from the “Italian-German Fund for the Future”, as one of the recommendations suggested by the Italian-German Historical Commission.
The event will be opened by the Italian Foreign Ministry’s Director-General for the European Union, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, and by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Susanne Marianne Wasum-Rainer.
The programme will include addresses by the President of ANPI, Carlo Smuraglia, by the Director-General of INSMLI, Claudio Silingardi, and by Professor Paolo Pezzino, the Scientific Director of the project.
