UPDATE ON PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE - Eighth Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, 13 December 2017)

On Wednesday 13 December, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the “Objectives and proposals to grow together” Eighth Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Italy-Latin America Institute (IILA).

 Minister Alfano said: “Fourteen years after the first event, the Italy-Latin America Conferences still represent the most important occasions for Italy and South American countries to meet and hold discussions. There is a deep spirit of friendship and brotherhood between us based on special cultural, political and economic bonds. The conferences, held every two years since then, have become increasingly dynamic. They have given us the opportunity to deepen the dialogue between our countries, giving rise to well-organised co-operation so that we can face the challenges of a globalised world together.”

 A number of South American Ministers will attend the Conference, with embassy representatives, experts, and Italian institutional representatives.

 The entire Conference will be open to the press.

The opening session (International Conference Room 9:00-11:10 a.m.) will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia and Interim President of the Italy-Latin America Institute (IILA), Maria Angela Holguín, the Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, the Vice President of Confindustria, Licia Mattioli, the Foreign Ministers of the South American countries who are members of IILA (Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Venezuela), the Secretary-General of the Ibero American Conference (SEGIB), Rebeca Grynspanand the Secretary-General of IILA, Donato Di Santo. The Deputy Minister of the Farnesina, Mario Giro, will chair.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following ways:

-    by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country).  

-    by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210), attaching the letter of their media organisation (or press card for journalists) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

Accredited journalists and photographers and TV crews may enter the Ministry as follows:

  •    from 8.15 to 8.45 a.m. (for the opening session)

  •    from 10.45 to 11.15 a.m. (for the working session)

  •    from 2.15 to 2.45 p.m. (for the first plenary session)
