PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE – First award ceremony of the “Rita Levi Montalcini Prize for scientific cooperation between Italy and Israel” (Farnesina, 8 November 2018)

The first ceremony to award the “Rita Levi Montalcini Prize for scientific cooperation between Italy and Israel” will be held at the Farnesina on Thursday, 8 November, at 3pm.
The prize, which is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the CRUI Foundation for Italian Universities, in association with the Ministry for Education, University and Research (MIUR), aims to strengthen scientific cooperation between Italy and Israel.
 The prestigious prize will be awarded to Prof. Ovadia Lev from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Lev will teach and carry out research at the Università degli Studi di Milano. He will be taking part in a planned scientific programme with a team of researchers at the Department of Chemistry led by Prof. Luigi Falciola.
Addresses will be given by the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Manlio di Stefano, and the Deputy Minister for Education, University and Research (MIUR), Lorenzo Fioramonti.
Following these, the prize will be presented by Under-Secretary di Stefano, followed by a lectio Magistralis by Prof. Lev titled “Advanced novel analytical methods for faster forensic and medical analysis”.
The ceremony will be concluded by Fabio Rugge, Rector of the University of Pavia and CRUI delegate for international relations.  Vincenzo De Luca, Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, will chair the event.

 
Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in covering the event should apply for accreditation by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at accreditamentostampa@esteri.it  (Tel. +39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching a letter from his/her media organisation (or press card for freelance reporters) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale from the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

 Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews should enter the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from the main entrance – left-hand side  - at 2:30 p.m.
