On Thursday, 14 February 2019, the Italian Embassy to the Holy See (Palazzo Borromeo), will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Lateran Treaty and the 35th anniversary of the Lateran Treaty and the Concordat Amendment Agreement at the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella and of the highest-ranking officials of the Italian Republic and of the Holy See.
This year, in consideration of the solemnity of the celebration, the ceremony will be followed by the opening of a small celebrative exhibition of the 90th anniversary by the President of the Republic and delegation members.
Bilateral governmental meetings will begin at 4:15 p.m.
In view of the limited capacity of the meeting rooms, it could be necessary to form pools of cameramen and photographers for the photo moments of the Ceremony.
Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event are requested to apply for accreditation by and no later than 6 p.m. on Wednesday 13 February, in one of the following two ways:
- by filling the interactive form and clicking on the event concerned at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching thereto, unless already provided, the documentation requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).
- by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the following address: email@example.com (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching thereto the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card for freelance reporters) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.
Media representatives are invited to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (rear entrance on Via Macchia della Farnesina) for the required security controls.
A shuttle bus service will be provided from the Farnesina to Palazzo Borromeo and return.
Even if previously accredited, journalists, photographers and TV crews reaching the venue by their own means will not be given access to Palazzo Borromeo without having first passed the security check at the Foreign Ministry.
Journalists, photographers and TV crews are kindly asked to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – rear entrance, on Via Macchia della Farnesina – on Thursday, 14 February, from 2:00 and no later than 2:45 p.m. (please be extremely punctual).
The bus shuttle service will return from Palazzo Borromeo at around 6:30 p.m., to bring media representatives back to the Foreign Ministry.
An appropriate attire is requested.
Inside Palazzo Borromeo, broadcasts will only be authorised with a TVU backpack, while they are possible through a satellite truck only from outside the Palazzo (without laying cables inside the building), after having given prior notice by and no later than 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 13 February, of the licence plates and the names of the technical staff, in order to authorise them to broadcast from outside Palazzo Borromeo (firstname.lastname@example.org).
