Changes to the Press Accreditation Notice - 13th Conference of Italian Ambassadors (Farnesina, 24 - 26 July 2019)

On Wednesday, 24, Thursday 25 and Friday 26 July, the Farnesina will host the 13th Conference of Italian Ambassadors, on the theme: “Continuity and Change in Italian Foreign Policy towards the Horizon of   2030”.

Speakers at the event will be the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi.

This year too, the Foreign Ministry has convened more than 100 Heads of Italian diplomatic missions in the world to create an opportunity of reflection and debate to enable the Ministry, through its vast diplomatic network, to increasingly express its value added for the security and growth of the Country’s whole economic system. The Conference agenda will focus on the efforts of Italian diplomacy on issues such as Europe, the Mediterranean, cooperation, the challenges of globalization, Italy’s “soft power” and the protection of Italian citizens abroad.

The following moments of the meeting will be open to the press:

Wednesday, 24 July:

4:00 – 5:30 p.m. approximately

Opening Session with speeches by the President of the Republic (at 4:30 p.m.), the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni

Thursday, 25 July:

Session closed to the press

Friday, 26 July:

10:00-10:30 a.m.

Closing Session with remarks by the Prime Minister (at 10:10 a.m.), the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI)

10:30 a.m. approximately

Family photo with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs (exclusively for photographers and TV crews)

Photographers and TV crews will be able to cover the sessions directly from the Conference Hall and journalists from the closed-circuit overflow rooms and salles d’écoute set up at the Ministry.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in covering the event are requested to apply for accreditation by and no later than 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 July, in one of the following two ways:   

•  ONLINE, at the link https://portaleaccreditamento.esteri.it, attaching thereto the requested documentation in digital format (letter of his/her media organization containing his/her personal data and, for members of the foreign press, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).

 •  VIA E-MAIL to: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (Tel: +39 06/3691.3432 – 06/3691.8573), attaching thereto the aforesaid documentation.

To apply for the positioning of satellite trucks, TV crews must send an e-mail containing the licence plate number and model of the truck to the address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210) by and no later than 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 July

We inform media representatives that, in order to assure the security of the Conference, Public Security Agencies have adopted measures to limit the circulation of private automobiles and the use of parking areas adjacent to the Farnesina Building. In particular, transit and parking will be forbidden on Via Macchia della Farnesina.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews may enter the Farnesina from the rear entrance on Via Macchia della Farnesina in the following time slots:
