On Wednesday 14 September 2016 at 10:30 a.m., the Farnesina will host the presentation of Rural Development Report 2016: Fostering Inclusive Rural Transformation, the flagship publication by the International Fund for Agricultural Development - IFAD. Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, IFAD President, Kanayo F. Nwanze, and the Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance, Enrico Morando, will deliver the event's opening speeches. Paul Winters, IFAD Director of Research and Impact Assessment Division, will illustrate the report's main points to promote an overarching transformation of agriculture. A debate will include contributions by Laura Frigenti, director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Julio Berdegué, principal reserarcher in RIMISP, Latin American. Centre for Rural Development, Winnie Byanyima , Director of Oxfam International, Elba Viviana Caro Hinojosa, former Finance and Development Planning Minister of Bolivia and Director of the InterAmerican Development Bank -IDB - in Peru, and Mandivamba Rukuni, former professor of Agricultural Economics at Zimbabwe University.
MAECI Director General for Development Cooperation, Ambassador Pietro Sebastiani and IFAD Vice President , Michel Mordasini, will draw the conclusions of the meeting on the basis of the report and subsequent debate.
