On Thursday, 19 October, at 5.00 p.m., the Farnesina will host a report by the International Energy Agency (IEA) entitled “Energy Access Outlook: from Poverty to Prosperity.”
The event will open with the introductory remarks by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mario Giro. The IEA Executive Director, Fatih Birol, will present the reports, that sets out guidelines to achieve widespread access to modern energy by 2030. It is a fundamental factor that intersects with and promotes sustainable development and the fight against inequality, in accordance with the 2030 Agenda.
A high-level panel discussion will follow, chaired by the Director General for Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Massimo Gaiani.Government representatives and members of African regional associations will meet with leading representatives of the Italian energy industry to discuss the role of energy policies for development, prosperity and well-being.
