PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE - The “Election Portal” presentation (Farnesina, 2 February 2018)

On 2 February, at 12.00 p.m., the “Election Portal” will be presented at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. It was developed by the Farnesina as a more systematic guide for the overseas network for the complex voting procedures.

The Director General for Italians Abroad, Luigi Maria Vignali, will make the presentation, exactly one month prior to the closing of voting operations for Italians abroad at 4.00 p.m. local time on 1 March.

The Portal was developed through the cooperation between the Directorate General for Management and Information and Communications Technology (DGAI) and the Directorate General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies (DGIT). It is proving to be a useful, innovative instrument for internal use, assuring a more efficient management of the upcoming election foreign voting processes, and acting as a real “radar” ensuring a capillary control over every phase of the election cycle.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following ways:

-    by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country).

-    by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210), attaching the letter of their media organisation (or press card for journalists) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

The accreditation badges must be collected in person from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the visitor’s hall, right-hand side of the main entrance, from 11.30 to 11.50 a.m.
