Within the context of the events organised for EXPO Milano and the European Year of Development, the MFAIC’s Directorate General for Development Cooperation (DGCS) and Coopermondo/Confcooperative have organised an event to be held tomorrow, Wednesday 21 October at the Cascina Triulza. The purpose is to discuss how to marry the internationalisation of business with development cooperation and how the international experience of cooperatives differs from that of more traditional, mainly profit-oriented, business spheres.
Raffaele Trapasso, of the Directorate of Regional Development Policies of OCSE/DAC, will deliver the keynote speech, followed by representatives of the cooperation world who will illustrate their experiences of the internationalisation of the cooperative system. President of CEFA Patrizia Farolini will speak on collaboration between cooperatives and businesses in development cooperation. During the second session of the meeting, Roberto Di Meglio of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Alessandra Spinelli of the Directorate General for International Development Cooperation of the European Commission will speak about policies and financial instruments for marrying growth and sustainable development. Finally, Vice President of Coopermondo/Confcooperative Claudia Fiaschi, will deliver the conclusions.
Journalists and camera operators interested in covering the event are kindly asked to apply for credentials by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, if they have previously been accredited for Expo 2015 at the following link https://accreditation.expo2015.org/mediahome.aspx?lang=IT.
For all those who confirm their attendance, and as long as the available places last, the organisers will issue an EXPO entry ticket valid for the 21th of October. Instructions for collecting tickets will be provided upon confirmation.
