Accreditation Notice: Presentations: Italian Human Rights Yearbook 2015 and the Annual Report of the European Union’s Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) (Farnesina, 10 December 2015)

The Italian Human Rights Yearbook 2015 will be presented at the Farnesina at 10.00 on Thursday 10 December 2015. The presentation, organised by the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (Italian initials CIDU) in collaboration with the University of Padua, coincides with Human Rights Day.

The event will be opened by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni. It is dedicated to the international laws governing human rights, the action programmes of the Council of Europe and the United Nations, and the role that education can play in this sector, for general awareness raising and for young people in schools and universities.

Other speakers are Prof. Antonio Papisca, editor of the Italian Human Rights Yearbook; Antonio Marchesi, President of Amnesty International Italia; and Gianni Magazzeni, from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Also on Human Rights Day, an event entitled “The Fundamental Rights in Europe: Challenges and Results in 2014” will be held at 15.00 to present the annual report of the European Union’s Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA).

The FRA event will be opened by Gianludovico de Martin, chair of the CIDU, and Annamaria Simonazzi, chair of the Scientific Committee of the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation (FGB). The speakers include Michail Beis, of FRANET, who will present the Annual Report; Filippo di Robilant and Laura Guercio, members of the Italian board of the FRA; and Silvia Sansonetti of the FGB.

  •        For the morning event, by the main entrance, left-hand side, from 9.15
