Third Forum Rome MED 2017 – Mediterranean Dialogues (Rome, Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi, 30 November - 2 and 3 December 2017)

The 3rd Forum MED – Mediterranean Dialogues, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by ISPI (Institute for International Political Studies), will be held from 30 November to 2 December 2017, at Rome’s Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi.  

The attendance to the event by numerous Italian and foreign leaders, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, ministers and people from the world of finance and business, as well as representatives of institutions and international organisations and scholars and experts from approximately 56 Countries, bears witness to the amount of international support received by this project. 

The Conference will be entirely open to the press. It is divided in three days (see the attached programme), with 25 sessions structured around 4 Pillars (Shared Prosperity; Shared Security; Migration; Media; Culture & Society).  

The key topics of the three-day conference – which aims to build a positive agenda to restore the centrality of the region in a continuously changing global scenario – are: the new equilibria in the area; common security strategies; combating terrorism after taking back Raqqa and Mosul; new strategies to manage migration flows; energy; international trade in the area. Special focus will also be dedicated to several key Countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, Egypt, Iraq and Libya and to the vision that big powers such as Russia, United States, China and India have of the area.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event are requested to apply for accreditation by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 29 November, in one of the following two ways: 

-    by filling the interactive form and clicking on the event concerned at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching thereto, unless already provided, the documentation requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).    

-   by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the following address: pressromemed17@esteri.it, (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching thereto the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card for freelance reporters) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.

The designated press entrance to the Congress Centre of the Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi, via G. Frescobaldi, 5, will be open on the following schedule:   

 

-        Thursday, 30 November, from 10:30 a.m. to the close of the session (according to the programme)

-        Friday, 1 December, from 8:00 a.m. to the close of the session (according to the programme)

-        Saturday, 2 December, from 8:00 a.m. to the close of the session (according to the programme)

On Thursday, 30 November, accredited media representatives interested in attending the opening speeches to the Forum are kindly asked to show up between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

For security reasons, on every day of the conference, accredited media representatives will have to check in at the Media Accreditation Desk to pick up their press badge in order to access the Conference Hall and hand it back in at the end of the day.

A press room will be made available with WIFI connection, monitors on which to follow the Conference and a media corner for interviews.
