Since 2015, MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) has been taking part in a measure promoted by the Italian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. It involves two prizes for the best Graduate dissertation or thesis and the best PhD dissertation or thesis on themes included in the "Convention of the Council of Europe on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence" (Istanbul Convention).
The 2017 competition "Prize to the best Graduate and PhD dissertation or thesis on the theme of countering violence against women" provides a grant of 5,000 euros, offered by CRUI (Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities) to the best Graduate dissertation or thesis and 4,200 euros, offered by MAECI to the best PhD thesis or dissertation.
The winner of the PhD thesis or dissertation will also receive a grant of 4,200 euros, from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
