The Ambassador of Italy to Poland Luca Franchetti Pardo has awarded the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy to the entrepreneur Roberto Guastalla and to Dr. Olga Mlynarska, active in major philanthropic initiatives.
The ceremony was held today at the Italian Embassy in Warsaw in the presence of a select group of guests. The Order is awarded by the President of the Italian Republic to honour those who have acquired particular merit in the promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between Italy and other countries. Roberto Guastalla, who for decades has been among the most active Italian businessmen in Poland, received the honour for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Italian style and cuisine in Poland and for having excelled in the organisation of important events promoting Italy.
Dr. Mlynarska was awarded for having promoted and supported important philanthropic activities both in an individual capacity and as pro-tempore President of the Lions Club Warszawa Centrum, benefiting in particular the Ukrainian population affected by the consequences of the conflict that broke out in February 2022, as well as for being an important point of reference for the charitable and welfare initiatives carried out in various capacities by the Embassy and other Italian actors in Poland.
In awarding the honours, Ambassador Franchetti Pardo stressed how Italy values the role played by the Italian and Italian-speaking community in Poland, which is a precious resource for the promotion of Italy’s image in the Country. In turn, both newly-awarded honourees expressed their profound gratitude to Italy and the President of the Italian Republic for the prestigious recognition received, expressing how the award is a new stimulus for them to further their efforts along the path taken.
