The Historical Diplomatic Archives

The Historical Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were established in 1902. Unlike most State Administrations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation does not deposit its documentation in the Central State Archives, but keeps it because of the crucial importance that knowing the past has for diplomatic activity.

Library

The Farnesina Library manages the library's book collection as well as a newspaper library of historical and current material. It houses valuable antique volumes dating back to the mid-16th century. It provides services to both the internal and external public.

Exhibitions, Initiatives and Communication

Our Ministry has a documentary heritage of great value, consisting of hundreds of documents that allow us to reconstruct the history of national diplomacy, Italian foreign policy, and our country's external projection.
