China: ADR proposes new flights

Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) and China Eastern Airlines met recently in Shanghai to discuss ADR’s proposal for two new weekly flights from Wenzhou to Rome, in addition to the daily flight from Shanghai (with the route starting at Wenzhou). The possibility of operating through a new direct link from Kunming, in Yunnan Province, was also discussed. The route operated by the Chinese airline to/from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport saw about 150,000 passengers in 2013, mainly Chinese, but also a small amount of Japanese and Koreans (around 15%). ADR recently introduced the “Welcome Chinese” certification issued by the China Tourism Academy for services dedicated to Chinese passengers. Source: infoMercatiesteri.
