Export: Deputy Minister Di Stefano chairs the first of the new virtual Sectoral Meetings

Today, Deputy Minister Di Stefano chaired, by video conference, the first of the new series of Sectoral Meetings dedicated to national production categories. “This first virtual Sectoral Meeting is an important opportunity for exchanging views and listening to the associations of producers and I believe it is extremely useful in this extraordinary contingency,” the Deputy Minister said.

The Meetings will be held until the end of November and will cover the main production sectors: agri-food and wine; innovation (aerospace, energy, innovative materials, chemistry, nanotechnology and ICT); clothing, textiles, fashion; health; supply chain technologies; cross-sector associations; housing systems; cross-sector technologies; ecosystem start-ups; infrastructure and logistics; culture industry.

The Meetings were called six months after the first round, which led to the signing of the Pact for Export. “We have reconvened these tables – the Deputy Minister continued – with the same spirit as in April: to keep the communication channel open between the government and the business community, with the conviction that we need to keep focused on the future ahead even in these uncertain times”.

“We hope that this dialogue will lead to concrete suggestions to further enhance the effectiveness of our support to the internationalisation of Italian companies and the Made in Italy brand, also with regard to planning the promotional activities of the ICE Agency. The lines of action defined by the Steering Committee and the strategy based on the six pillars of the Pact for Export already provide clear guidance and direction, but we would also like to explore with you the channels and tools that can be more effective at this particular time,” the Deputy Minister concluded.
